Four Charged After Brewster HS Baseball Field Vandalized By Vehicle

Four teens are facing charges after the baseball field at Brewster High School was vandalized by a motor vehicle, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. announced.

Just before 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, Putnam County Sheriff Deputy Shane Rossiter and Deputy Ryan Diskin of the Emergency Service Unit were dispatched to a report of a vehicle doing “donuts” on the Brewster High School baseball field.

Upon arrival, the deputies observed an occupied vehicle stuck on the baseball field. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle caused approximately $1,000 worth of damage to the baseball field, Langley said.

The driver, Cole Crandell, 19, of Southeast was charged with third-degree criminal mischief (a Class E felony), and trespass (a violation).

In addition, the occupants of the vehicle; Tino Surace, 19, of Southeast; Brian Milano, 19, of Southeast, and Nicholas Leahy, 19, of Patterson, were charged with trespass (violation).

Crandell was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing and arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court. He was released on his own recognizance, pending a future court date.

Surace, Milano, and Leahy were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court. All three are scheduled to appear in court at a future date and time.
